As soon as New Black Towers filled up with people, other things began to disappear too. First, more condos. Then restaurants, shops, businesses with trade secrets, well-manicured pools and lawns, banks, ATMs, drive-thru windows and botanical gardens. And then an entire tree-lined neighborhood vanished into blackness. It seemed that everyone wanted to spend every minute of his day wrapped cozily in a black tower.
